Los Angeles, CA
Archdiocese of Los Angeles
During our partnership with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, we trained over 35 teachers from 13 different schools. Their Gold-level membership allowed them to utilize Lemelson MIT’s Invention Adventures curriculum and professional development offerings—helping them to prepare students for participation in the California Invention Convention.
Calistoga, CA
Calistoga Junior/Senior High School
With the help of Lemelson MIT, Calistoga has developed a pathway to invention within their small rural district. Students began work with our JV InvenTeam guides and now, Invention education is embedded within the high school physics curriculum. Calistoga is also piloting Lemelson MIT’s Inventing Smart Solutions Course.
Watsonville, CA
Pajaro Valley High School
Pajaro Valley USD, a large district of 34 schools (75% FRPL enrollment) in Santa Cruz County, is very active with the CA Invention Convention. Lemelson MIT is helping to develop two, year-long CTE courses with a focus on invention and innovation. The long-term goal focuses on expanding and integrating educational and workforce opportunities.
Modesto, CA
Modesto Junior College
We have worked with Modesto Junior college to embed invention education into their course offerings from multiple disciplines. LMIT has also worked with MJC to support the development of the invention education pathway in the central valley.
Medford, MA
Medford High School
Medford High School has taken advantage of training from LMIT to prepare students to participate in the 2024 Massachusetts Invention Convention.
Arlington, MA
New Covenant School
Students at New Covenant School have been involved with Invention Conventions for several years. Educators from the school engaged Lemelson MIT for training support to prepare students to participate in the 2024 Massachusetts Invention Convention.

Whittier, CA
Rio Hondo College
Rio Hondo Community College, located in Whittier, CA serves a predominately Hispanic population. A Gold-level PiE Membership was incorporated into a 5-year, Title V HSI grant that they received; qualifying them for the summer faculty PD program, curriculum review, mentoring, collaborative working sessions, teaching resources, and assistance in engaging local businesses to support IvE efforts. Lemelson MIT is working with faculty and staff to design new courses and certificates.
San Jose, CA
MacDonald High School
Lemelson MIT supported the development of curriculum and course offerings that infuse invention education throughout the school day. Synergistic activities with the local Foothill College, a new Invention and Inclusive Innovation (i3) participant, allowed for the exploration of dual enrollment, creating the pathway to college with the newly developed Inventing Smart Solutions capstone class.

LA’s Best Afterschool
The LA Unified School District is comprised of nearly 200 schools, many of whom serve underserved student populations. LA’s BEST provides after-school enrichment to those students. As part of their Gold membership, Lemelson MIT provided professional development and Invention Adventures curriculum support as they prepared students for local and regional events connected to the California Invention Convention.

Think Together Afterschool Program
The Think Together after-school program serves over 400 schools. The program grew its invention education offerings through LMIT’s Invention Adventures curriculum and with professional development provided by LMIT to train frontline educators.
Oklahoma City, OK
Frances Tuttle Technology Center
This large technical center was an InvenTeam during the 2019–2020 school year and saw the strength of cross-pathway collaboration with Biotech and Engineering. They have since opened a new center and sought more cross-disciplinary collaboration with an emphasis on inventing.
Chaffey College
A brief look into the first class of the Inventions and Inclusive Innovation initiative at Chaffey College which launched in 2021. Professors Mark Padilla and Brian Atkinson led the program through a collaboration with Lemelson-MIT and the US Department of Education Title III.
